The study of pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis and exploration of new treatment strategies are among the main scientific directions of urgent surgery. In connection with this, experimental models of acute pancreatitis are still an important research tool. In this review the invasive and noninvasive models of acute pancreatitis are presented. There are discussed disadvantages and positive features of each model.
