Features of Vaginal Microecosystem in Gestational Period: a Literature Review

The analysis of recent data on the study of the vaginal microbiota with normal microbiocenosis in pregnant and nonpregnant women is presented. Attention is drawn to particular relationships within the microbial community inhabiting the vaginal microecosystem of clinically healthy women during gestation. Some controversial issues concerning mechanisms for maintaining of vaginal microbiocenosis with Lactobacillus spp. are discussed.
